Day Certain Mailings

Post by andy2007 »

I've just answered a query on PMC, about items marked DC. It seems that at at least one DO, they weren't briefed about it. :d'oh! :arrrghhh So I thought I'd better let everyone know about it.

DC stands for Day Certain. It's a new product, which you should all have been briefed about, several weeks ago. It's a higher priority version of Deferred Mailings. And it MUST be delivered on the correct day. If it's either early or late, RM get a hefty fine. And could potentially loose the contract.

As it's basically 2nd Class Deferred, it costs more than the old 3rd Class Deferred Product. So there's a lot more money in it for RM. Particularly as it seems to be very popular at the moment.

For some reason, I can't find any details on the RM Web Site. So unfortunately, I can't give you a Link to it. But your DOMS should have all the details about it.

Has ANYONE outside of the RDC Network been told about these?!?!
Considering how important this product is, I would have thought the DOMs would have told you in advance. :d'oh!

Our office is on 3 floors and only 1 Plasma screen has been installed, of which only 6 out of 300 can see it.

Well, I suppose that's better than nothing. but they made a big thing of it, a couple of weeks before they launched it. Don't the DOMs realise how important it is to ensure that they are delivered on the correct day?
Delivering them early, is just as bad as late. :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

No, it's not available to DSA Customers, as far as I know. It's just for our real Customers.

This is what's really pissing me off. Here we have a brand new product, and a time sensitive one at that. And the DOMs can't be bothered to tell anyone about it! :mad :arrrghhh

How are we supposed to start repairing some of the damage done over the past few years, if they are willing to let a new product fail (which will cost them a fortune in fines alone!). Because they couldn't be bothered to tell you about it! :mad :arrrghhh :mad

Day Certain Mailings

Perhaps if everyone who didn't already know about Day Certain, was to go in tomorrow, and demand to know why they weren't told. It might just have an effect. If nothing else, it should allow us to find out, which DOMs knew. And which ones weren't told either!

I'll bring it up at my WTLL next week (I'm off this week), and ask my Manager to try and find out what went wrong. We always get the opportunity to have questions passed up the chain of command. We don't always get an answer, but it's worth a try.
