as we know the amount of posties going sick on the 27th will be quite high.wouldn't it be a good idea if the powers from above were to offer us an incentive to work that day.

They have that incentive already, it's called the stage warnings watch them dish them out over the Christmas period with no mercy shown, unless you are a junkie or drunk as then you have a social problem

We were threatened that we would get a stage if we went sick on the last day before the break last year. I think they will definitely do it this year, or not pay you for that day unless you had a Docs Cert.

They can't do that, the attendance procedure is the procedure, they can't change the goalposts without agreement, the last I heard was everyone takes there r/d for that week on the 27th or you give up 8 hrs o/t over the Xmas pressure period to get the day off,it could be one of these options or it could be something completely different, but Imo I doubt we will be working on the 27th, but I've been wrong before :nervous

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Ahem. You all know what R.M. are like for making sure staff morale is motivated. Not.

We'll be working Saturday Dec 27th and you must expect to be grateful for it. You don't have family and friends who will have holidays and will be socialising. You only work.

Crozier will be fast a bo bo's in bed so make sure you go out on Dec 27th and earn his bonus for him.

If CWU don't ballot over this what is the point of being a member? They did it years ago over a Sat Dec 27th and got a lot of support, only the saddest went in. Go for it.

Hey lets all have a one day strike linked to pensions and anything else we can think off - we all get a day off (Unpaid) and RM get to see the feeling of the staff - and its bound to make the news but should not affect us PR wise if we make sure we get the message out.
