This day will be hard enough to deal with after the festive season but the fact that so many will throw a sicky will make it worse for everyone to cover and do overtime.

RM say we have to work due to our commitment to Amazon (DOM's words not mine). Remember this is the same firm that didn't want Unionised Drivers on it's sites and also sprinted to Down Steam Access asap...........I feel convinced. Also Processing will not be in on 26th.............?
They want Processing in from Midnight Boxing Night....

27th will be a service day. There is a fair bit of talk around whether to challenge with with a local/national ballot but gut feeling is 27 Dec will end up as a working day....

The 27th will be a nightmare, short staffed due to sickies and Royal Mail being greedy by allowing bulk maiings of makro catalogues and retailers sales promos

Yep - apparently they had a vote when SDD was accepted and the stickies won the floaters lost.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
