how to stitch up your own job
tues am, 30 may 07, Rickmansworth. delivery postwoman cycling back to office at 09.30am, finished walkduty, sweating, no cycle helmet, no reflective jacket. Came in early, no meal break, leave office early to do part of walk, overweight pouches, rush back for missorts, rush out again for rest of walk, then get back to office 4 hours before your finish time. No doubt management will be very impressed, swap your delivery boots for a pair of Nike running shoes. Doh!

oops, should have been WED 30 MAY NOT TUES 30 MAY, but the rest of the content is accurate and don't forget to put more than one heavy pouch on your cycle, 2 is ideal!

RUNNING SHOES.
NIKE ARE ALRIGHT BUT I'VE ALWAYS BEEN A NEW BALANCE MAN, REEBOKS RUNNING SHOULD BE SOLD WITH A 'THESE WILL CRIPPLE YOUR FEET WARNING'. YES, NEW BALANCE ARE EXCELLENT AND TOGETHER WITH ASICS HELP BOTH THE HEAVY AND LIGHT RUNNERS (what are you on about this time, ed) - THEY WERE ON ABOUT THE POSTIE WHO RUSHES AROUND WITH OVERWEIGHT BAGS ETC, AND HE SHOULD WEAR NIKES!
OH YES, I HAVE BEEN AWAITING NEW BOOTS FOR 7 BLEEDIN' WEEKS, MY ANKLES ARE SHOT TO BITS BECAUSE MY CURRENT PAIR ARE WORN OUT, BUT I DAREN'T WEAR MY EXCELLENT 'COLUMBIA' WALKING SHOES IN CASE I HAVE AN ACCIDENT. (cripes, this guy does go off on tangents! ed).

Protecting Jobs!
I do hope that in the unfortunate event of any industrial action that the delivery staff are going to not overload their bags, start before their times, go out in the vans and end up doing overtime for nothing. This will make the strikes a complete waste of time and money! Plus coming in before your start time is a health and safety issue because you are not covered if you have an accident out of your duties and overtime times!

I've got my walk down pat so that after 10 doors I can tell to the minute what time I'm finishing in the case of IA its going to be smack on the correct time on easy days. Don't forget to take your meal break before you leave the office, it all counts.

That's what I do normally but If I've cut off got to make sure any prying eyes see me finish at the correct time. Especially during any formal IA.gspot01 wrote:would the easy answer not be to pouch of in a post office and not go back at all, that way no one knows your finished.

Re: POST OFFICE?
Its the only building that looks like a shop but has a long queue of complaining people outside. Occasionally has druggies waiting outside before it opens so they can aash their giro's.mdtomuk wrote:PLEASE EXPLAIN - WHAT IS 'POST OFFICE', NEVER HAVE I SEEN ONE?
