Booking for Travel

Post by Stormproof »

Am I entitled to claim for Travel time? I've been moved from my DO to an SPDO, over the past week I've started booking as I've been turning up at my DO at 5.50am where I collect and sometimes load a van to get out to the SPDO, the duty does'nt start at the SPDO until 6.45am. My LM expects me not to start getting paid until 6.45am. My question is 'I've been taken off my duty, I did'nt request to be sent to an SPDO, am I entitled to claim?' I phoned my rep to ask about Travel time etc. but he does'nt know.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Well k66yla its in black and white in the new agreement:

Working in nearby offices – Areas will identify and agree with the CWU locally a approach (which could include the use of volunteers and reserves) to working in nearby offices within employees’ contracted hours which will include travel times and appropriate travel and subsistence arrangements.
Its under Phase 2 Enablers -

also you mentioned that sometimes you have to load a van and drive it to the SPDO, does he really expect you to drive a OMV uninsured   .

Sounds like he is trying in on again.

I may add another post on this thread as I am just checking the CWU website for any other agreements/LTBs that may affect this situation.

But what are "appropriate travel and subsistence arrangements" ?
Is it a certain amount per mile ?

Thats just a posh way of saying that they have to provide transport from your normal office and somewhere for you to have a meal relief. Or I should say, that's how I read it.
