Ex old bill needs advice

Think I may've posted this wrongly in another section so here it is again.

Hi all, found this great site out of desperation lol
I'm 41 yrs old and had to resign from the police service earlier this year due to breaching some of the codes of conduct.
Basically, I got into trouble for speeding on my motorbike due to a defective speedo, so not like I was riding like a tw8t or anything, just didn't realise I was over 30mph, and ended -up accruing 9 points which expire in 2.5 years time.

Anyhow, looking at the offical RM site adverts etc I see a lot of the vacancies (even the walkers) require to have no more than 6 point son their licence.

My question is simply : Is there a way that an application would be considered on it's individual merits or is the application system rigid, robotic and so beurocratic that the points matter is a way of suppressing and filtering bulk applications??

My uncle worked for RM for nearly 30 yrs in the London region and so of course is a tad jaded by all the changes he experienced and quite simply says 'ain't got a f*&king chance mate' lol

Any positive views would be greatly appreciated, and of course I guess I'll get some ribbing too, being ex-old bill etc.
S'okay, I can take it

All applications are treated the same by admin, everyone goes through the same procedure when applying for a job. If you are banned from driving you can't apply for a driving job obviously. If you worked for RM as a driver and got banned say for a drink driving offence your DO Manager would just take you off your driving duty and put you on a walking duty.So if you have left the Police because you have accrued to many points it won't affect your application at all, all they are concerned about is punctuality and reliabilty and of course honesty. So get your application form in.

Hang about did I read this properly....you were a copper who got knicked for speeding? Are you sure or is this wind up? :Sick The way we read things in the paper is that all coppers fabricate evidence (aledgidly) so cant you loose 6 points that way?

Any positive views would be greatly appreciated, and of course I guess I'll get some ribbing too, being ex-old bill etc.
