Same here. Once we had a part timer come in at 4 when he was meant to start at 6:15 no joke. I still used to get out on my round before him.
you gotta larf. one of ours came in at 4am today for a 5.30am start. first words out of her mouth. has anyone rang in sick. she did`nt even have a walk to throw of. where do they find these plebs..

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

This forum is spot on, never heard of this "on the vans " down this ere way. We got to spread the word and put pressure on these idiots who come in early & take their cars.
we got em, mainly town walks (although more rurals are doing now) comin in 40, 50 minutes early to throw off. :no no

Keep up the good work!!

carbon footprint

Post by the beautiful bd south »

I think the union should pressure the business into stopping the use of cars on delivery by going down the enviromental route.
How much of a reduction would it be on the "carbon footprint" if one van took out 6 posties rather than 1 van and 5 cars???????

I don't know if this has been suggested elsewhere on this site but here goes.
If there are people in your office using cars on delivery without the proper insurance, you or your CWU rep make a list of their names. With a witness hand this list to your line manager/DOM and tell them they have a 'duty of care' to check the persons documents or prevent them from using their car. If they don't do this and the car user has an accident or the car is stolen with mail inside, then the manager himself/herself will be liable, because they have been made aware of the situation.
Sorry if these moves have already been mentioned.

DON'T USE YOUR CAR. USE YOUR HEAD. PROTECT YOUR JOB.
