In the future, we'll be lucky if we're starting at lunchtime and finishing at 8-9 at night.

get used to getting out late....royal fails aim is for the job to be 9 till 5 within the next 5 years with firms drivers taking on collections from firms as they deliver to them thus allowing for the collection drivers to be laid off

Ah isn't progress wonderful.rowdogg wrote: why do we now go out later??
Due to the more flexible and better streamline service Royal Mail now operate under we:
Do deliveries later in the day.
Last collections are earlier
Sunday Collections have been cancelled.
Saturdays are now one of the busiest days but with less hours
Walks regularly go over the agreed 3.5hr limit/
Sickness rates appear to climbing (at least in my office)
Flexibility appears to have made Posties less flexible
Callers offices are now busier because of later deliveries but the hours and staff have been cut.

Getting out later and later, average time to start our deliveries now is somewhere between 9am and 10am, even saturday last week it was 9.05 when I put my last letter in and gradually we seem to be getting later and later every week.

I noticed the same , we used to go out at 8.30am now with "Flexible" working the liners are making do IPS later and last carry off at 9am or later if he deems that there is still mail to be sorted so he can get a clear office.

Its only just started this week but last letter clear down in our office is 9.45. Makes sense as on my duty I am suppose to start my delivery at 09.30
. The only time I manage to achieve a 09.30 or slightly earlier start is usually on a Saturday. Most of the time it is about 10.00 before I start delivering.
