Post by kay_thebigbird »

I know I will struggle first few weeks back at work as a postie after being out for a year also gained fair bit of weight aswell, can't wait to shift that, anyone else find it hard to keep there fitness up & there weight off, especially as you get older even though you do lots of walking.

Try to keep fitness of some sort, do some swimming which will not impact your joints . When i was off for a long term sick spell i was still able to walk etc so i think i lost weight at that time!! Also i find that when i am not out doing walks i did not feel as hungry and want to eat the house down..lol...

Eat well, lay off the booze, quit the fags. Do some extra running/walking (3 miles or half an hour for me) when you get in from work maybe three times a week and weights or yoga type stuff on the other days.

You will stay fit until you retire.

I know what you mean you can't beat the smell of a fresh bakers, I gain weight just thinking about food & I think once you hit 40 it's harder to shift, can't wait to get back on my post round, definately noticed being less fit after being out for a year.

Pegasus release time means that Big Daz is trying to help sort out all changes RM want in with the way forward agreement it's basically a computer which works out how long all the walks should be {obviously alot bigger].It's similar to geo_ route,it needs alot of input from experienced posties that know all the areas. Also repick is all the dutys go into a hat & get picked on a seniority basis the same as a resign, but it has to be a high percentage of changes in the DO.

The Pegasus revision in my office was done by one of the managers and they've denied us a re pick because they say there aren't the required number of changes :hmmmm , it seems to be that only the larger offices are being given these and the smaller offices are being screwed (or maybe it's because we've no real union representation over here).

Well if it was done by a manager then you are screwed because he won't know the walks as well as the postmen & the walks will probably be 4 hrs +. :d'oh!
