Do you ride a bike on your round?

I was just wondering who still rides their bike on their rounds? Are there many posties that still do?? What distance (in miles) do you ride before your round commences? What is an acceptable length of riding? Is yours a relatively easy round, i.e. flat or steep?

I have a 2 mile cycle to first drop, then the first part is big hill over half a mile up one side then back down the other side...the rest is flat
love doing it by bike as the bike takes the weight , not the shoulders. Would not want to do it any other way .25 YEAR POSTMAN SO GUESS I AM STUCK IN MY WAYS LOL

with me being a relief for 5 walks, using a bike isn't always ideal as takes me longer actually using a bike.

We don't have any bikes at all on any of our duties but then again who wants to cycle up these hills:

most of our duties are done on bikes,i moved office and found it quite hard to ajust to,as were i came from it was mainly walking..plus side as someone already said was the bike takes the weight

Bikes should only be for town duties, all rurals should have vans

hmm nothing in ours,maybe some other offices but none ive seen
only time ive seen bikes in the city were sitting in a state of disrepair in the main central DO
dont think ive seen any on deliveries

our office is mostly bikes. certainly saves the back and easier to get to and from delivery.also saves having to wait for a lift or a bus could not do without it now.

All urban deliveries except the town centre/market square duty (HCT) are bikes

Rurals and firms are vans obvisouly.

Some bike duties are right next to the D.O others require a 10 to 15 min bike ride.

Mainly flat terrain.

I take a bike to the delivery but deliver on foot in loops around the pouch drops.
I cycle between 1/2 and 3/2 miles.
