Are there any WSM operators from Gatwick here ?

We've been told that people in Gatwick only operate a Sequencing machine for 1 hour at a time then do an hour on other work.

We work up to 4 hours at a stretch and I just wondered how other trials are operating because we don't get any official feedback. Also we're never asked for any input.

Funny way to run a trial !!!

I have been told the trials are not working well!!

With the operators of the walk sequencing machines placing the trays of mail through the machine 5 times to get the correct walk sequenced output??

The mail has to go through the machine 3 times (called passes) Sometimes one of the on-board computers (there are 3) throws a bit of a wobbly and the machine returns to idle after the first or second pass. The whole thing has to be rebooted and the process has to start all over again wasting up to 30 minutes each time it happens.None of the techy people can explain why this happens or seem to be able do anything to stop it happening again.

Maybe the second generation machines which are replacing the trial ones will not have this very annoying and frustrating problem.

Anyone from Gatwick got an answer to my original question ????
