Bit late for this, but Monday I finished on time ( after a nice and relaxed delivery ), and went home.....only to get a phone call from the late shift lineo to ask, seeing as I'd swapped a collection with another postie, was I going to be coming in to do it?   ( oh sh*t - I forgot! ), so I jumped back on my bike ( Honda VF1000F ), and rode like mad to get back, and do the rest of the collection ( the lineo did the first wave ).

Then riding home, I thought I'd best take it easy ( seeing as I pushed my luck a bit on the way in ), which lasted as long as it took for me to see a Hayabusa, and have a bit of a play with that, and after we went separate ways, I carried on for home, and 10 mins from home, at a roundabout, I got a bit impatient, and shot through a tight gap, saw I was running wide and ran out of talent :arrrghhh - one panicky grab of front brakes, while leant over usually results in the front washing out, and the bike sliding to a stop.....in this case into an 18" high kerb, which sheared the rim from the spokes :d'oh!

Overall, the damage is not horrific, nor expensive & I also have my car. I was also very lucky to only end up with only a bruised or dislocated big toe ( thanks to 400lbs of 80s Jap superbike resting on my foot ), so a few days away from work - and despite losing a few others to sickness recently, I'm going onto a rural with minimal walking for next week! :dance :dance :dance
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

Cr@p day, snowed under with packets and mags. 1st letter 10.45, last letter 14.30 and still had packets for other duties to clear. Finally got home at 16.30  Don't know what tomorrow will bring, one of my LM's wants a 'word' about my 'Callers' duty :nervous
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

Finished 14:00, advised 6 parcels. A lot lot better than yesterday when I finished at 14:25 having advised 12 parcels and 8 boxes of lightbulbs. No leaving parcels in sheds ever again (unless requested), can't believe the crap i've had this week when all i've tried to do is make things easier for the old folks on my round, everything by the book from now on and P739s all round. :Very Happy
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

For a Friday not bad at all - apparently yesterday was quiet as well so praying that we are not going to be hammered tomorrow. Got back today and found 1 full york of light bulbs next to my frame. They are all mine, but as I know my round well by now, I am certain they have all received light bulbs already. Someone please get the Bulb Fairies to stop making them we have enough now. :evil/mad

Regarding these light bulbs, is this a yearly thing? or a one off by the power companies. As just as you seem to get rid of some more come in. Have about 50 at my frame and more come in every day, so have no chance as this walk has lots of packets anyway.

I am hoping its a one off - just this financial year.

I do remember seeing adverts in Feb March about them from BG, and we did not have so many last year. In fact last year weren't they just on request anyway.

Banking crisis what banking crises - I had bulk postings from Halifax, CitiBank and Abbey National (I think) so unless they all want their money back I think this credit crunch might have a very small silver lining, at least for posties delivering.
