I have been working for the royal mail for 2 years now and at the moment I'am doing a research project at glasgow uni on the royal mail trade unions and privatisation. So any thoughts or views you have on the state of the union or the threat of privatisation would be welcome and any other information.
Cheers

Privatisation and the union
Welcome ally0001 - privatisation of Royal Mail -
Loads of posts on here about it, but basically the Union is against it as it would shift the emphasis even further than it already is towards being a profit driven business from being a government run service that makes a profit.
Strange thing is that since we became more profit orientated as a Business we have started to loose more money
, and yet for most of the last 100 years we made a profit.
The threat of full privatisation has receded somewhat, at least till the next election, as Labour at their conference reiterated their stance that Royal Mail should remain in Government hands, may explain why :lfo has confirmed he is leaving between now and March.

You could look into providing USO, and impact from European rules and opening the market to competition, and postcomm influence.
Good luck.
Good luck.

MOST POSTIES FEEL ROYAL MAIL WOULD HAVE BEEN PRIVITISED A FEW YEARS AGO,BUT FOR ONE REASON,THAT IS THE GREAT BIG BLACK HOLE IN OUR PENSION FUND.IF THIS IS EVER RESOLVED,IM SURE PRIVITISATION WOULD SOON FOLLOW.
