Apparently there are "ongoing" discussions at both HQs - talk is they want us to do D2Ds for week of 15 Dec and the Union say OK but we want 27 Dec as a Non-service day. Postwatch as was had no argument with us not working the 27th so I guess we all have to wait for a decision or compromise in due course.

And here was me that thought the issue of D2D deliveries during the Xmas fortnight was up to each and every individual concerned on whether they wanted to take them out or not. As in the past no D2D deliveries during the Xmas fortnight.

I wouldn't worry too much about it as it will be an easy day to work, as week after christmas is usually easiest week to work.

What royal mail forget, as a cost cutting exercise imagine the savings of no light , or heating in thousands of sorting offices and fuel for the vans...if they made it a non service day.
On a personal note any plans to spend quality time with family or friends any great distance away for many of us are now disrupted as sat 27th at 5 am I and many others now will be at work .
Thank you royal mail
As normal our d.o.m wont be in, as he never in on a sat.
well he will get the 4 days off ... screw the rest of us.

well york central delivery staff were forced to take d2d's last xmas . anyone refusing was threatened with the usual c***p . suspension , sent down to work in processing etc etc. looking back now it's plain to see they were trialling d2d's for that week to see if they could be done :mad
watch out. there may be a dom about

not being funny but wouldn't it be cheaper in long run for them to give it us off as the amount that prob gonna ring in sick and force us to cover for them and claim overtime is gonna be worse off for them.

Current situation,
RM say we have to work due to our commitment to Amazon (DOM's words not mine). Remember this is the same firm that didn't want Unionised Drivers on it's sites and also sprinted to Down Steam Access asap...........I feel convinced. Also Processing will not be in on 26th.............?

Then all we need is a skeleton service on overtime to do collections and amazon stuff and oversized pkts.
