I don't know about your office but a postman was sacked for p*ssing in a customer's fish pond a few year's ago in our office!. He should have told the manager too p*ss up a pole!. Why would he use a wall instead of the proper facility's in your office?.st5mainman wrote:a postie has just been sacked at our office for pee in up a wall in the yard, anyone in the st area heard owt

How do you ask to hear the details about this without sounding like a weirdo? Unless the facilities can be proved to be unsanitary or unsuitable, then he really wouldn't have had any reason not to use them. We all have chancers in every office who push the limits, this should serve as a warning to them. Remember, if we give RM no reason to sack us it makes it a little bit more difficult for them. Just do your job and go home.

Ours are kept very clean. If yours aren't. Get on to your H&S Rep about it, as dirty toilet facilities are a health risk. If our cleaners can keep up with their jobs, then why can't yours?disgruntledpostie1 wrote:Have you seen the toilets in most DO's and MC's, I hold on until I get homek979aaa wrote:I don't know about your office but a postman was sacked for p*ssing in a customer's fish pond a few year's ago in our office!. What's a cleaner?? Would that be the guy who turns up a 8, then walks around with a brush in one hand and a phone in the other, and then leaves about 9andy2007 wrote:Ours are kept very clean. All employers, whatever the size of the business, must:
* make the workplace safe
* prevent risks to health
* ensure that plant and machinery is safe to use, and that safe working practices are set up and followed
* make sure that all materials are handled, stored and used safely
* provide adequate first aid facilities
* tell you about any potential hazards from the work you do, chemicals and other substances used by the firm, and give you information, instructions, training and supervision as needed
* set up emergency plans
* make sure that ventilation, temperature, lighting, and toilet, washing and rest facilities all meet health, safety and welfare requirements
* check that the right work equipment is provided and is properly used and regularly maintained
* prevent or control exposure to substances that may damage your health
* take precautions against the risks caused by flammable or explosive hazards, electrical equipment, noise and radiation
* avoid potentially dangerous work involving manual handling (and if it can't be avoided, take precautions to reduce the risk of injury)
* provide health supervision as needed
* provide protective clothing or equipment free of charge (if risks can't be removed or adequately controlled by any other means)
* ensure that the right warning signs are provided and looked after
* report certain accidents, injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences to either the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) or the local authority, depending on the type of business.
I would suggest that you contact your H&S Rep but not sure if that's a good idea in your location. However, I am sure the local HSE would be more than willing to give the toilets a quick check - excuse the pun but if he got involved he might get some Brownie points for taking on a large employer like RM and winning.

I cannot see any legitimate reason for this apart from sheer laziness,If the man was fit enough to get to work in the morning then he is fit enough to get to the toilet.

Three immediate questions:
1. Who caught the person peeing up a wall in the yard?
2. Was this person as a result of their actions reported to management by a fellow work colleague?
3. How far are the nearest toilet facilities from this yard?
