I've been gagged by my line manger and " CWU union rep" I have been accused of incitement ??

because I persistantly question mangers at work time learning and voice an opionion when asked questions from other posties, AT NO TIME HAVE I ADVOCATED INDUSTRIAL ACTION ETC

I was "invited" into LM Office with rep asked him what I've done now he replys dont know manager then informs me that she is warning me that if i continue she will charge me with incitement union rep agrees and washes his hands of me !!

Spoken to area rep and he will be looking in to it

I have now asked both of them for the warning in writing adn now waiting for my letters i they fail should i go for bullying etc

I thought that was the whole idea of WTL, was to be told something and then for the employee's to ask questions. How can giving advice to people who have more faith in the answers you give them be wrong either. Must admit your rep sounds a bit of a fool, he should be thanking you for doing some of his job ie asking questions and giving advice.

If that happened in our office everyone on our committee would be getting warnings a least weekly.

I agree with 'amma fairman' get some recording device, and also start keeping a diary, so you have it in black and white, and course do the job properly, don't give them any excuses.

hi mate , my advice is that you speak with the other people in the wtl session at the time get statements from them, this will help you in the future, and whats this b ol 88cks about warning you, this is why the conduct code is there , they cant just give you a warning, there are procedures to follow and most dont, i would be careful about recording equipment because if the third party doesnt know they are been recorded im sure it wont stand, just make sure you document everything and let them do what they have to do, but i wouldnt worry get ya staements from your fellow workers good luck mate

Agree.
Be careful with recording.
You can only record someone if you ask their permission.
If you get caught then Im sure they can use it against you as entrapment.
Use the recording to get exact conversations and keep a good diary of events, times what said place etc.

Exactly!!! Keep a diary and write things down in front of them so they know. You can ask them to sign the page to say that it is a correct account. Give them some of your own pressure. But be careful.

I think ? on WTL if you are apparently a problem - the manager must ask to leave - then it comes a CofC issue for not attending - might be wrong but I think RM have botched this one ?

the other one they could try is B&H against you- abusive might be used - FFS note everything and "accidentally " switch some thing on that records as everyone is quite rightly saying but that's the wild card only to be used when very well advised as RM tend to twist things on it's head .

oh mate ive been hit wth this so many times (5ish) i just laugh now, first or second time apparently i wa inciting and they still did f all.
Each time they hit me with it now i just say go for it take me to tribunal, i am not a dog and i will ask questions. As for the WTL sessions they are meant to be an open froum, how the f can u get done for asking question?

Your manager must be really petty, in my WTL sometimes the manager lets me answer questions and ask them as well. Most of the information I get to answer questions comes from RMC so once again it proves its worth.

However, I do enjoy it when the Manager answers a question with "I don't know, I'll get back to you" and I pipe up "I know the answer, what you .............". It embarrasses him no end but to his credit he does not get personal or offended by it.

We have fun like that as well, I've even been asked by management, what is happening RMC is defentley worth it!

Christopher f***ing Robin had the temerity to ask a tricky question of a visiting area manager in one of our wtl sessions , result= bluster,obvious distress, and a rapid exit: followed by frequent unannounced visits from the KGB sorry I meant IB,who were in turn were questioned about obvious failings in RM security procedure , and left quickly without satisfactory explanation.

What questions were you asking to be accused of incitement ? and as others have said WTL is a question and answers session isn't it ? or is there other things they're trying to pin on you ?

the only way i think that they might be pursuing this is whether you might of made some of the questions on individuals capability,possibly overstepping the bounderies of dignity and respect.hence the rep not supporting you as he might of heard you first hand.however if you feel that you have a grievance follow the advice of other posters,diarise and get support from others who were at wtll.
