Our area seems to be getting hit with test letters on collections lately, anyone else getting them? 2 delivery posties in my area have been threatened with wilful delay for not clearing boxes. I've only just been notified that I have 6 boxes on my delivery I have to empty every day, considering I've been on the walk for a few weeks and no one told me about the boxes I guess I'm lucky they've not done me. Talking of wilful delay someone at my office who worked during the strike has just been sacked and escorted off the premises for wilful delay, but the union are lodging an appeal to get the person reinstated :confused
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Don't know how they have the gall to sack or suspend anyone for wilful delay, managers do it everyday of the year,in fact we have a manager that was suspended for hiding mail and we have just found out that they are not going to sack the manager, but it wont be coming back to our office,we have had posties sacked for less.

They'd be better off getting rid of managers, very soon the ratio of managers to posties will be 1:1

Talk about looking after their own. One of ours did something naughty a while back , the area manager sent him to another area with don't come back while I am here. Must have been serious but like you say we can be gone in sixty seconds.

It wont be important looking. Either yellow plastic from collection boxes, or M3 in delivery pouches.

Local ones tend to be hand written and stamped in our DO - its always easy to spot if you recognise your managers writing though.

Our managers wilfully delayed mail on saturday, there was a 2nd van coming in but they told us to go out and deliver what we had already thrown off and then made us deliver the mail we recieved saturday today.

Talk about making the rules up as they go,we have been told more times than i can shake a stick to only do dated items and first class only, the new buzz word from our managers if they are up a gum tree is cull the mail of course once you have done that you still have not got time to do the delivery.

We,ve been getting test letters on delivery for a couple of weeks now, they go in alphabetical order and always adressed to no 1, rm only go on the ones that are returned to them so if a hundred go out and only 60 come back and those 60 have reached the target adress on time they score 100%, they don,t tyake into account deads or people who cant be bothered to return them.

They used to come down in a pouch and the manager used to hand them to us.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

if its a pillar box test letter they normal put a big test card in its green or yellow but there is another letter there as well the usual rm letter with a chip that tracks it moving through the system if you empty the box on time youve nothing to worry about
