Our managers office has a nice new bench fridge for milk and a new toaster, kettle and a microwave, oh yes and they spent the rest on some new spare parts for our fittings which were breaking due to the weight of all the mail. They said we could use them, just not when we are on the primary, or when preparing are turns. :Confused

Think our last dip into farce line fix was a new radio and speakers to deafen the old boys in 'Twilight Zone' at one side of office and the other side can't hear a thing. At a Work Time Lying once we asked for various things, all got a 'no' so we asked for a greenhouse in the yard to grow some exotic plants maaaaaann!!
Still got a No!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We call it Firstline fix at our place. It's a bit crazy because there are so many restrictions on it. We couldn't even have a Christmas meal in the Quadrant canteen because someone was concerned that it would offend people who don't celebrate Christmas . . . so it took us nearly a year to decide what to do and we just ended up having a meal in the canteen anyway. It was very nice though. Also we got a radio thing but I don't know how it works. It's a nice idea but I think we'd all have been happier with a bonus or vouchers or something like that.... seems a bit weird when the buisness is in such a terrible financial situation....???
