An exciting opportunity has become available for businesses and corporate partners to fundraise for WRVS by helping in the official and independent measurement of Royal Mail's delivery performance by taking part in an on-going postal survey.
For the last year over 400 WRVS volunteers, staff and friends have been posting and receiving ‘test' items and then logging them using an on-line
system. Altogether they have rasied over £12,000 for the charity. We are now able to offer this fundraising opportunity to anyone who is able to send test items using their franking machines.
The survey is conducted on Royal Mail's behalf by Research International, an independent company tasked with monitoring the service provided by Royal Mail. People that take part will be reimbursed for all postal costs and to say thanks for taking part Research International will donate £12.50 every quarter to WRVS for every person completing all survey tasks.
A spokesperson for WRVS said: 'Research International are looking for meter frank panellists. If you would like your company to get involved and use a franking machine, then get in touch, please email rr@research-int.com quoting ‘My company wants to support WRVS' in the subject bar, with your name, company name and contact details.'
'If you are accepted as a panellist, you would be expected to send franked test items from your premises, to receive test items and to log the dates on Research International's internet site. With this information, Research International then calculate the speed of delivery to and from your address.'
All items required for this monitor will be supplied by Research International and all extra franking costs incurred will be reimbursed.

WRVS links up with Royal Mail's delivery performance testing
Now you know who carries out the "Quality of Service" research for Royal Mail. They have done it for many years. The only thing that worries me is that traffic figures are used to "weight" the figures, and if these measurements are not being accurately or truthfully then the impact of a letter going missing if the figures have been massaged
