Flexability & Banked hours

Post by seeker019 »

The other day i told my DUM 'next year i will not be banking any hours and stuff flexability' :nana

All because he says banked hours will be repaid by working absence overtime (part covering another duty), now we all thought banked hours was to reduce overtime, this is not the case.
Over the past 2 weeks i have done 3 extra hours work, claimed to be taken off banked hours but my DUM paid this as overtime :no no

Warning to others, once you have banked hours you owe RM so they can tell you when to repay them and how!!!!!!

Seems everyone has a complaint, or is off with stress, Thanks to everyone who voted for this crap :Applause :Applause :Applause

Royal Mail cant tell you when to pay back your banked hours. It has to be mutually agreed. They cant make you deliver longer than the 3.5hr delivery span either. I have no banked hours, if I did, I would only agree to pay them back indoors.

If you are banking hours or not, i guess you would need to agree idividualy how much you were going under or over.
whilst it is as grey as you like as to what you are and aren't doing what isn't grey is when RM allows you to go under your hours, and that is at a time that suits the business, so IMHO the same must apply when the request is reversed.
I've said it before, i am happy to go over my time so long as i am avalliable to do so, unfortunately, today i'm not.

get yourself a local agreement that states the business must pay back all your/its owed hours to the people it owes hours to by the end of the week with absolutely no exceptions, there will be no facility to carry hours over for OPG's. the resource unit will provide a copy of what has been agreed ( either under hours or over )signed by the idividual concerned and their lino to the DOM and the CWU rep on a daily basis. Also if the business fails to abide by the agreement, competently manage or allow full disclosure to CWU and individuals concerned, then the practice of banknig of hours will cease with imediate effect.
Confused... You won't be, after the next episode of. SOAP
