Hey, I received my contract documents today and the job title was 'OPG', what does this stand for?
I take it it's still the postman position?

Yes it is its a term used with the company. It means Operational Postal Grade or in English Post(wo)man.
Although those who do not deliver post but sort and process it in Mail Centres and other units within the pipeline are also called OPGs. Its a generic term I suppose for the foot soldiers of the business.

There used to be two postal (uniformed) grades - Postman/woman and Postman/woman Higher Grade.
They were merged eight years ago and now all uniformed postal grades are called Operational Postal Grade,
which can be Full Time (FT) or Part Time (PT).
Don't worry about all the terms and abreviations you will come across in RM, you will soon get to know them - just ask.

I was told I was an AG! Still haven't found out if thats true, or what the difference is.]
Training really is a shambles, you have to ask everything, but the problem is knowing what to ask. After a few months I was asked why I go back to the DO every day. To bring back undelivered packets I said. Oh... you can drop them of at the post office, and just go straight home...but it was weeks again before anyone told me not to do that with specials.
