Touching on something which has been mentioned earlier in this thread,i have sat down with
the planner(as a duty holder using a HCT)and we have run georoute on one walk using
speed 1-foot
speed 2 -HCT
The difference was less than 2mins!!
They have now agreed,somewhat reluctantly to use the third speed of Undulating terrain, producing a differnece
of 15 mins.

Speed 2 is the area aggrement for CB/PE
call rate is 88% for CB/PE area
The area aggrement consists of 5 stages each one needs to be signed off by the DOM, Delivery Lead Area Rep and Local rep
Stage 1 and 2 are basically all the pre planning
The basics of Stage 3 is producing the set of routes and duty structures to go to a ballot of CWU members and CWU members voting yes stage 3 cant be signed off untill members have endorsed the revision.

We did not get to vote on the implementation. What actually happened was that the rep was given 4 weeks to talk to 300+ duty holders to see if they had any issues or recommendations with the old walks, and then when the first section went in he was to test each and every walk over a month. If that worked then the rest of the office would be done on a rolling basis. However, the DOM kept refusing release for the rep as traffic levels would not allow. Then because it was taking too long he implemented it by EA. We threatened to walk so they brought in an area rep and he said we should accept it.
Mind you all these shenanigans just about guaranteed we were solid during the strikes, and perhaps the strikes and turmoil had some impact on him leaving our Unit, but not Royal Mail.

Your comments show the need for a national aggrement, its bizzare that RML are using different criteria in different areas.
They know that a proper national aggrement would mess up their cut backs/savings plan.

It's not bizarre ,it's a chancers ,I wanna be a high flyer management charter and yet another indictment of a piss poor CWU agreement. Divide and rule versus guerilla war ,but the odds are stacked. Somebody made a bad call
