work your payed hours
we are been told we must work all our payed hours if we do that we are breaking the 3 and half hour delivery span so whats the ruling on the 3 and half hour delivery span or working your payed hours
as our office is in the mail centre we leave the office around 9 at the latest so if we say we are not going past the 3 and half hour delivery span but are still on pay how do we stand on this issue

depends,how does your office run?
do you return to the MC or go home and pouch off?
how is phase 3 being implemented in your DO/MC?

Have you spotted a big flaw in the agreements. The current national agreement says a delivery span should not exceed 3.5 hours, but says nothing about doing 2 deliveries and if combined are they allowed to go over the 3.5 hours.
As per previous suggestions I would get the rep to make a local agreement where available during normal working hours that indoor work is absorbed.
Although you could just walk slower and make sure you finish at your duty at the correct finishing time.

This is the odd thing about removing job and finish...no one is doing any extra work - everyone just slows down. Ive been told that no other company would pay you for hours youre not actually working, maybe true...but RM have to be the only company that pay more to people who are slow and crap at the job.TrueBlueTerrier wrote: Although you could just walk slower and make sure you finish at your duty at the correct finishing time.

I've always found that stange but whenever you consider how management works, it always pays to be incompetent.pickaname wrote:This is the odd thing about removing job and finish...no one is doing any extra work - everyone just slows down. Slow and crap at the job? A lot of hardworking people at my DO are slower than the new comers BUT their missorts, miss delivered items and complaints against them are a lot less than the staff who race around like headless chickens. These people are assisting RM in ruining the reputation of the company that long serving members of staff have helped to build up over the years. Quality of service v headless chickens. No contest in my book.pickaname wrote:This is the odd thing about removing job and finish...no one is doing any extra work - everyone just slows down. I was talking about the people that are out there till 5 or 6 o'clock...you dont have to be a headless chicken to finish on time or cut off, but you do have to be crap to book 3 hours pressure every day.silverback wrote:Slow and crap at the job? We have one of them at my office, the not so strange thing is that he is top of the leader board for complaints. 4hrs is the maximum for outdoor work with 15mins travel to your walk and 15mins pouch off time so leaving you with 3.5hrs delivery. You don't combine two walks, this is based on health and safety agreements, like having a place to take a break away from the work area and toilet facilities. Plus the fact it would probably KILL YOU!!!

Some office's have an agreement to pouch off ie( to put mail in postbox or postoffice if it has not been shut down for good) some other office's have a return to office agreement!.pickaname wrote:What is pouch off?Phantom wrote:4hrs is the maximum for outdoor work with 15mins travel to your walk and 15mins pouch off time so leaving you with 3.5hrs delivery.
