I'm sorry i don't get it....

Is someone actaully forcing you to go on the postman chat website??

I personally like to visit both PMC and RMC, i can then make my own mind up on issues.

It's quite simple if you don't like what you read on PMC, don't go there. :dance

I suppose that's true of anything, such as being a postman, for example.

I don't believe anyone of us said we were being forced to visit PMC. I merely dropped in to have a look,I found it boring :cuppa and with approx 280 members, hardly worth going back for a another visit. I think the popularity of RMC speaks for itself.
I can only please one person per day.

Maj,these terms hark back to the last strike,PMC was set up around the time of the industrial action, and then shut
down when it was over, then it resurfaced when this site was hacked! :hmmmm
i respect the opinions of both sites and it's good to have a balanced point of view, but don't expect to find Tommo over
there!!
PMC is like listening to Sarah Kennedy(Radio2 at six in the morning)she starts off all serious, but ends up talking
about what her cats did last night!
It came back again, because there were so many people stuck for somewhere to discuss RM issues. They started up again to satisfy that demand.

I didn't get to go on it, the first time around. I lost my internet connection, while I was registering. It wouldn't let me try again, as I'd already put in my Email address. But this time round, it seems to be fine. One of my Posts have been removed. But that was just because I'd included rumours, without stating that they were. I reposted, and had no further problems.

I think it's great, that we have two Sites, with different atmospheres. We can get a much better idea of what's going on, instead of getting so insular, that we delude ourselves. Our predictions for the Pay and Modernisation Vote, is a good example of that.

Postmanchat, is basically aimed at Posties socialising. But there is a good section for discussing work related issues. That's why there are discussions about Pets, Sport, Music, etc.. But they are in a seperate section, to the serious Work related discussions. To suggest that serious discussions end up being hijacked by what their Pets are doing, is wrong, and above all, insulting. :no no

For example: There's the current discussion about Leighton leaving http://postmanchat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=912 I don't see anything fluffy, or condescending towards people like us, in that one. Do you?

I am still of the opinion that I was hacked whilst on their site once.

And THAT'S why there is a need for 2 different Sites!

The point is: They encourage socialising, but ALSO have a very good Work related section. Wheras RMC is primarily Work related, but also has a Canteen section. Each Site, attracts different sorts of people. So we can get a much more balanced view of what's happening in RM, by going on BOTH. Did you even look at the link I provided, before making fun of it?
There are several other Threads, which are along similar lines.

Obviously, there aren't as many Users on PMC. But that doesn't mean that it isn't worth using as well. After all, it hasn't been back for all that long.

If we're ever going to sort out our problems. We're going to need to listen to, and read, as many different opinions as possible. Otherwise, we'll never understand the problems fully. That's what went wrong last year (in my opinion). The majority of Union Members actually wanted the Pay and Modernisation Agreement to be voted in. But were too afraid to make their case on here. So we had no chance to try and convince them they were wrong. And even deluded ourselves into thinking that we would have a landslide victory. :hmmmm

As with most things in life. We need to get some balance. Otherwise, we risk defeat, in the batles ahead. :hmmmm

Membership levels are irrelevant. Its who actually uses a site or comes back. Even on here its mostly the same 20 that post. The majority breeze in, then out again. Thats the way it is.

It is probably to do with the fact that if they say something controversial (mail volumes are riseing) they will ban them and they must think before they post something as such!. And it is like the spanish inquisition if you do not get banned first!.
