Except that it makes us look inept, even more business goes elsewhere and more jobs go down the pan....

Is that when the mail get delivered directly to the DO's or when the DSA companies deliver all their own mail.

Well if you've got a masterplan and implementation strategy with a neat simplistic justification to boot,what do you do when reality proves a tad awkward?
To be honest ,when an area manager tells you ,"you delivered X amount pa" ,and you say" no we weighed it and it was X + 20% pa" Then two weeks later you are told to stop weighing the mail, you've got to wonder!

Still now we just count trays ,it could backfire thanks to some switched on MC comrades,cheers

Reality check time NT;
We are worse than inept. Starting at the very top. We are consignia, we're not consignia... Millions lost.
Lets close PO's but we wont differentiate between profit making PO's & loss making PO's.
We wont make allowances for pensioners with no bank accounts who live in rural areas.
We will make the job, job & finish. We will praise the posties as our greatest assets. We will then infer that our greatest assets are deceiving us with their spanish practises & we will stop job & finish.
Morale drops & open hostility between senior management & posties increase.
They strip offices of hours every year making it more & more impossible to reach targets.
Stressed DO Managers have to go out & deliver because there is not enough posties to deliver the mail within their time.
Overtime rises because more posties are doing the job properly as laid down by RM who really should have seen that coming.
We will buy foreign parcel firms & then hey, lets sell most of them again.
Basically if those at the top can reach inept then ffs they have improved because basically they are p*ss poor.
Maybe it has something to do with working for Asda since the HBOS chairman is from that stable.
Maybe when this Government can decide who RM is and what is their purpose then maybe we can
get someone in who knows what to do rather than introduce sh*t load of ideas that no-one other than
them who live in the clouds could ever see working.

If the managers had any brains they would have got things in writing because we all know that managers are not to be trusted.

Hiding mail in wagons has nothing to do with organizing staff efficiently . Semantics > too vague and obscure , too "managerial " - RM - a naive ruse - there's always Stars Chat or Postman Fluffy - childish smug bullying attitude

RM have always parrotted out the line that mail volumes are falling and targets are being reached - well this is obviously true if you "forget " to count certain things and hide mail in wagons , with various levels of apparent corruption , RM's figures are to be taken with a sack of salt .

Someone will no doubt invent a reason but back on track, this is what happens when you apply targets. People get scared of not meeting them and do all kinds of tricks to get the numbers to fit. Schools and NHS also have to meet targets and get rated on them - often wrongly as we know. These targets are set by Postcomm and it seems reasonable that not all DOs will meet them but DOMs will be pressured from on high to meet them even when they've been told to cut this and cut that, with obvious consequences. This result should be dropped on Postcomm's doorstep.

Although I haven't had experience of this in years. I assume that they think that this problem may be more widespread. Which would explain the difference between what they experience, and what they are told. Only time will tell, if they are right or wrong.

figures are very accurate cos my DUM DIM DOM told me so ha!!!

Nearly all of us (5000) could say the same problems happen in their office. Thats quite a lot. It will depend on how much work the prosecutors want to make for themselves.
