TBH, it's his job that is very much in danger because they can always sub-contract those jobs.

Excellent - lol.

Look comrades, if you're pinning your hopes on a few socialist workers with cheese and onion sandwiches and a flask of coffee to turn the tide, you might just as well hang your pouches up now. As they say, the deal was the deal and most signed up to it. You can pontificate all you like but nothing Hayes or Ward can do will stop these centres closing. They're going. The CWU are powerless on this and a wet fish march won't change a thing. You go along by all means. Weather looks good for Monday.

I wish I knew what this, and the previous three posts on the subject meant.
Is it a secret code?

You wrap it when not in use so the tracking capability doesn't work

Ok, let's look at this rationally: No Political Party has whole answer. They never have, had. That's why we put so much emphasis on the "Opposition" in Parliament. Admittedly, at the moment, there is little difference between the Prime Minister, and the Leader of the Opposition. Which I believe is where a lot of our problems come from.

There is no need to start poking fun at the SWP, any more than there is the need to poke fun at New Labour, or the Tories (tempting as it is to do so!). It would be better, to start looking for CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. That way, there is the chance to influence the policies of the Parties, who aren't already in power. :hmmmm

Why is there no need to poke fun at political parties? It served spitting image very well. This site has ALWAYS done that. No sense in breaking the habit of a lifetime. The difference is that people don't like it when its the party they support. In any event, resistance to the post means what? We've got three main parties who all back the EU. Work out the odds from that.

There is no need to start poking fun at the SWP,
Sure there is, all the time some people think the SWP have anything to offer, and are anything more than a bunch of fading idealists continuing to spout the same old tired rhetoric.

any more than there is the need to poke fun at New Labour, or the Tories (tempting as it is to do so!).
There's every need to poke fun at both of those parties too, but at least they actually have had, and will continue to form parliaments with greater or lesser success. The SWP were looking very jaded in back in the 1970s, and in those dim and distant times people actually believed that some form of hard Left government would be electable and even desirable. How times change,eh?
I wonder how dear old Tony Benn is these days... :hmmmm

It would be better, to start looking for CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.
OK, here's one recommendation for the SWP members- get a hobby. You'll achieve just as much but you're sure to enjoy it more... :whistle

Clearly not everyone can see much beyond canteen coffee and what Fred told them. Wasn't it Dave Ward that said "we can only win"? What happened to that one?

12 months left to retirement and then off to sunny Devon for me. Chances are, Labour will lose next election, Tories will get in then RM will be sold piece by piece and all this will be hot air - much like the steam from those SW flasks. Unions are dead in this country, in case anyone hadn't noticed. Brown and Labour are broke and country in debt so they won't spend money on anything other than sweetener winter allowances that no one will get unless temperature dips for extended periods. Not much left to sell either. Its all gone - even the cheap gas. Marching up and down to "hands off our post" will look good on the CWU CV but thats all it will be. They're already on to BT now and Hayes keeping his eye open for a better job. The few forms of action left are just to keep members happy and encourage them to pay their dues. CWU lost heaps of members and still struggling to recruit new ones. Says it all.
