Does the company provide money for non-standard issue equipment? I wouldn't have thought so, would you?
Yes, if you have an interview with ATOS & they decide that wearing RM issue shoes is bad for your feet ( like mine in the Clarke's / Clarke's rip off shoes ), then you are entitled to £30 towards the cost of privately purchased footwear.
I went for £100 Ecco walking boots....nice and comfy & waterproof, but the heels wore down too quick, and not waterproof when the fabric ripped....8 months use so now I have a nice pair of HiTec Magnum boots ( difference is these are kosher - you can tell the difference in sole material between Hi Tec Mags & RM Rip Off Mags )
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?
Mail delivery; those that can, do, those that can't, MANAGE!

In any case, mine ("Magnums") went in a puddle during the recent monsoon weather, and consequently smell like mould is growing in them, so... I am back on my previous pair, which are worn-down at the heels!
BTW: does "Magnum" infer that they "backfire" on you - just like the eponymous gun? If so, we've all been "shot in the foot"! Ho ho!
Actually you can get £30 towards a set of shoes so long as you get a Doctors note to say that the RM issue shoes are not suitable.

Have done this before... got cheap trainers and sprayed them with black paint. Car paint is O K . Do them once then when cracks appear go over again.... worked for me!
A long while ago it was mentioned that the Magnums that Rm were supplied with were specifically designed for indoor duties. Unfortunately some clever so and so issued them to delivery staff and hence the numerous accidents and slips, especially in wet conditions.
RM have now addressed the issue and a new Magnum is in the pipeline, but exactly how long we will have to wait for the improved model nobdsy seems to know.

How could they allow them to be issued for outdoor wear, when they have fabric tongues which soak up all the water and rain? Mine smell of mould after one rainy day!
Perhaps the mould is standard issue - for health and safety purposes, mind: a sort-of penicillin derivative? Medication, medication ooh ooh - medication: that's what you need: if ya wanna be the best, and stand out from the rest - ooh ooh: medication's what ya need (but don't go sick for too long, or you'll get put on a stage!)

Roy Castle would be spinning in his grave........ trying to beat the world record for spinning in a grave (I think Frankie Bolye first used that joke).

I'll be buying a pair of Dr Martens on pay day, I'm not even entertaining the idea of using Magnums in winter.
Well, guess what? If you find that the park pond is frozen over, you'll have the ideal skating wear with your "boats" [sic.]
