All collection boxes should have Tabs in them

They are there to tell the customer if the box has been cleared.A few years back when we had collections on S/A at our office,the tabs had 13.30,15.30 and 17.30 on them and would be placed in the slot when the box was cleared,we still do 3 collections a day but on the last one we change the Tab to the next day.They may be blank because the Tabs are missing,otherwise they should be showing.

There used to be tabs telling people the time of the next collection, when RM changed the collections and the plates on the front of boxes to only display the time of the last collection the tabs were no longer used, then people complained they could not tell if the last collection had been made and this was inconvenient, as some would rather use a box with a later collection if the last collection from that box had gone, so RM introduced the day tags to show what day the next collection would be. Whether the tabs get changed r not is another matter.

Some of the boxes that i empty have the Tabs stuck in the slot, one has shown Thursday for years, its bent to phuck and cant be moved

the boxes are a big bug bear of mine TBH, put up in victorian times and are a nightmare to empty with modern day flats and even packets stuffed into them

I have even opened a box and some of the letters have blown out straight into the River ....

The reson we do it is to show the public that the box has recieved its final collection of the day,the plate only shows when its last collection will not be before otherwise the customer would not know whether to post or go to the nearest site/box advertised on the box plate with the later collection.

Whether or not a box has recieved its final clerance of the day should not be a guessing game.

With regards to newer boxes that don't have the tabs, we don't have them in our area, although if we did i would persue it via the I.R. framework quoting the above aswell as Q of S

just a cover up , no imagination or vision from :lfo :cfo & senior management who are more concerned with bumping up figures and saving money for privatization .

cynical dumbing down of Q&S , to erode people's expectations .
