Johnnyp's your man form this.
I'm sure it's 8 for a walker. And there is a limit in there on how many 'high priority' ones as well.
Vans i would of thought it's a free for all.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Thats right Postman 8 on a walker max and things like banks, travel agents etc should go on vans as they are high value ones.On a van it depends on the size of the vehicle i think,i had a copy of the guidlines and lent it to our area rep, next time i see him i will ask for it back and post it on the site.

the type of specials does not help the situation with packets (jiffy size) and small boxes the responsibility of foot deliveries. Some believe only specials that are able to be carried on your person (envelope size) should only be allocated. Any thoughts on this ? Maybe a can of worms opened here regarding size and numbers, not even mentioned dodgy foreign ones allocated as 'special' . Also a number of recorded orange stickers being treated as ' special' from the callers are creeping in .... we know the contents and understand security but why not send them under the silver sticker as normal ?
Mildred: Hey Johnny, what are you rebelling against?

I never realised there was a limit for vans. Presumably it only applies to deliveries though because it would be completely unworkable on collections. Seems strange because surely the risk is no greater on a delivery than on a collection.dvbuk55 wrote:something like 35 in a van BUT it should have a secure lockup in the vehicle.

In fact it may even be greater a van on deliveries may have prios in it but one on collections has a higher chance of doing do when they have just collected at a regular time from a regular Post Office.PhilthyPhil wrote:I never realised there was a limit for vans. The maximum you can take out each day is 8 on a walk consisting of no more than 3 high priority items such as foreign currency ,jewellers etc. and 5 so called low priority. not to sure with the rurals, but there is also a weekly total!!!royalstar wrote:what is the maximum amount of specials a do should take out?
Is it more if you are on a van duty?
