Election fever and sneaky posters

Post by majeed »

First letter 9.08; last letter 2.35. Had week's first row of D2D's plus five bundles of electoral walk sorted mech mail, so it was almost like doing nearly a full frame of D2D's - every single house, almost. Also, some fly poster had been around and put his leaflets into letter boxes but not pushed them through (expecting me to do the rest of his work for him), or else, left them hanging outside of the letterbox, held by the force of the flap; what a mess it made, as many just fell to the floor as I pushed letters through. Quite tired as I have not been sleeping well (something to do with the scone?). Generally light day otherwise - perhaps the Autumn madness experienced last week is coming to an end!

Absolutely hammered today. Felt like xmas without the happy xmas spirit we all get
Our DO has yorks of mail coming out the door with all the mail they had to push to one side.
Looks like a week of madness ahead

Miserable, rained most of the morning. It was a fairly light Tuesday but we've just started using HCT's and quite frankly the nicest round on the lightest of days is not going to be good in my opinion.

Finished late

Post by majeed »

10.00 start; 2.15 finish. Rain, which lightened-off towards afternoon. Slowed down by D2Ds, fashion catalogues and election letters. Met other postie on neighbouring walk who had also finished later than expected.

The Jocks did not get the August one so got one this week. NI and Scotland have variations on the English and Welsh Public Holidays.

Not bad today and after hearing some horror stories I feel lucky.

First 1000 - last 1330 - just as it should be :Very Happy . Rained for about an 1 hour at start of duty then overcast but no rain. Got rid of 5 out of 7 bulbs I took out so all in all quiet a successful day.

s**t day. Everyone out late, and quite a few booked. This is mainly due to the early finish time of 12.45 on a Tuesday. We get off the ips and we have about 15 mins before it's break time. Just can't see things working. Peeps are getting a bit frustrated now because they really are trying to make it work, but getting off the ips late, coupled with larger deliveries just isn't working. Morale is almost as low as when SDD came in.

We can only dream or morale being as high as it was during SDD  We've just had another go off on the sick and have several others who are on the brink of breaking  (but because of stage warnings cannot go sick).

I've worked in several places, including businesses that had mass redundencies but have never known morale to be as low as it is in RM.

Pretty much how I feel today - it was nice to finish a bit early, on a very light day, especially after a horror of a week I had last week.....sadly I've got 100% of D2Ds in my frame tomorrow :d'oh!

Yes - we managed to attempt delivery of the light bulbs in our district: our manager asked a driver to collect them all and take them out. I had two mail trays with light bulbs from rows two and three on my frame, all neatly sequenced (aren't I a good boy? :angel ). British Gas will be pleased! Also, spookily enough, and just like you Teebs - the weather behaved exactly the same: just now, in the last few hours it has come down heavy - and I mean - heavy. :cuppa
