Our duties in my part of london already have last letter 3pm,it's a postcon thing.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Thanks for posting "johnnyp" and as you say 3.5 is your limit in your office!. But i hear from up and down the land that this is not the case and royalmail are pushing our union reps and our postmen/women to go for longer delivery span's!. This too me is unacceptable i have done walks and still do to be outside for over four hour's!. REMEMBER IF YOU ARE LUCKEY ENOUGH TO WORK IN AN OFFICE YOU HAVE FACILITY'S SUCH AS TOILETS!. Are we destind to crap in the street's like paula raddclife?.Enough is enough we now all have to draw the line and make our stand!. LETS MAKE OUR STAND NOW!.

Here's the deal down our way,we had a choice, give the savings, then have the flexi s**t,then the long and shorts, then the phase 3 s**t,basically the whole hog that you guys are going through.

Or we had other choices.
4x10hrs Mon to Fri 1 walk and then do a 1/4 of another
Sat normal 8hrs just do your own walk.
1 week off in 6 but we still for the other 5 weeks work 5 days.

or

4x10hrs Mon to Sat.
On paper 4hr walks,we sorted the walks evenly, they roughly went to 3hrs,3.5 on v bad days, then lost walks as we then put 1/4 of walks onto the remaining walks.
2 days off a week,Wk1:Wed/Thur,Wk2:Fri/Sat,then the best bit Wk3:Mon/Tue
This meant that every 3 weeks we would get ,Thur,Fri,Sat,Sun,Mon off!
This is the option we went for,it is against the national agreement and Bog Gibson isn't happy about it.
But we feel as we are loaded up,jobs will be saved,we can't do much if any flexi/covering for each other stuff.
We get more time away from the job,we work harder of course, but it's worth it.

Looking at what some of you are saying on the board,it does not work for everyone.

NO! NO! NO! When we have these national agreements, they are for our benefit and to accept 4 hour delivery spans is NOT ACCEPTABLE. It will finish some of the more mature posties off.

Well he has a good and honest point their!.If as he says would this not be age discrimination of the old?. (FOR THEY CANNOT BE USELESS AS THEY HAVE DONE THEIR JOB'S UPTO THIS POINT OF IMPOSSITION UPON OF THEIR CONTRACT)!. HOW WOULD THIS STACK UP IN A COURT OF LAW?.
