why dont managers cover break offs

Post by johnnyp »

My DOM does but theres only so much even he can do.Cut offs should not really be happening, every one is supposed to get a delivery even if it means streaming mail.If its a heavy day i know that i must be out of the office at 11.30 to complete my walk by 15.30.If i have to leave mail then so be it,my DOM will then deal with it.We are told to throw off if possible all first class and 2nd and then mailsort last off all.If we do have to leave mail then it should be mailsort,as long as our walk gets a full delivery. What we leave then the dom may throw it off or we are pulled off the ips next morning untill its preped.

tolkien wrote:i am asking a question from my posts (worth a look to see what you think)
my question is i thought it was the law that managers had to cover break offs either by sa duties or overtime and at a last resorce them walking the streets to get them delivered
as in my office they are just leaving them in the sacks to be thrown off and hopefully delivered the next day and there are a lot of them
very interested in your views
Are you putting it in the non compliance book for cut off's?.

All depends on which area you are from .Our management including the area manager have been seen walking the streets.
The thing is why is management getting paid £15+an hour for doing a postmans job?
RM are running offices on a shoestring cutting everything to the bone. When its an heavy day the sh@t hits the fan.
