New driving rules

Post by postiebob »

I might be a bit slow here but can someone explain in straight forward terms the answer to this question.
I start work at 8pm and finish at 4am, I drive a 740cf for 1 hour 40 minutes, take a 15 minute break, work for 45 minutes then travel back to my office another 1 hour 40 minutes arriving back at around 1.55am. Now am I due my other 30 minutes at 2am after 6 hours or should it be before, this morning I handed my keys in at 2am and was took into the office because I wouldn't unload my lorry. PLEASE EXPLAIN THE RULES to a simple driver.

This website has a detailed brief on the new regulations - does it help.

The bit I think you want is 1./2 way down and is under the title "Driving Hours"

As far as I can see, you would be in the right and that you should take your 30 mins before the 6hrs is up.
I'm not 100% certain on this though but I'll have a look through the info I have and see what I can find out for you.
