Sorry to jump in but is it possible for a PT postie to move into a main sorting centre? And how would you go about this?

Look on royalmail.com/jobs and see if there is a vacancy first in the area you wish to work!.

If you are near to the office that you want to transfer to,try going down there and see the DOM,this worked for me but that was in the old days though.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Which part of West Midlands do you want ?

Remember - Lichfield, Aldridge, Cannock 5 days a week policy, Walsall floating week 6 days policy.

Don't know about others DO. Find out which one and pop in DO and ask to see the DOM if possible.

Unfortunately mitch any manager processing your transfer application would be obliged to consider your attendance record. I think in the present climate it may trigger doubts about your commitment to the firm
