Maybe I should word the question differently.
Are there any offices that Pegesus has been a disaster and has made things worse instead of better?

All depends on input ie walk speed A+ being upto date and other things!. Was going to say get your union rep involved and area union rep but just seen it's a bit dificult in your area at the moment!.disgruntledpostie1 wrote:Maybe I should word the question differently.

It is because the management manipulate the data being inputed into it!. It is a programme on a computor that is all it is, it has to have input (data) to work if the data is wrong so is it's prediction!. IF YOU THINK IT'S WRONG AND IT WILL BE IT IS USED BY MANAGEMENT TO SAVE HOURS ( EARN MANAGEMENT BONUSES + LOCAL SAVEINGS TARGET'S) YOU MAY WELL GET A BOUNS BUT WHAT PRICE!.johnnyp wrote:Pegesus is a management tool to get rid of jobs![]()

Loads of problems but mainly it took out 13 walks about 18 months ago and they could not cover them even with OT. Now had to put back 8 - 10 walks in over whole office, yet still not working - 1 walk has to go out on OT even on Tuesdays.
The Actual Gio-route implementation had loads of problems.
It defaults all Letter Boxes to the front of the address. This has to be manually changed.
It needs to be told if there is a hill and if you go up or down it.
It treats main roads as though they were normal ones - its suggested a dual carriageway in our area be backed when delivering.
It has to be manually adjusted for multiple occupancy addresses that don't share letter boxes.
In high density housing its not to bad but in rural or "middle class" areas it can't seem to cope with long drives.
The Delivery Officer has to have input to show the computer where the safe drops and pouch boxes are, and the best way of doing a street or even a walk. On mine I have a couple of cul-de-sacs and it wanted me to back them and then dead walk back.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Me thinks there are political concerns there.BELIAL wrote:Big Daz washes whiter than white, happy with phase three ,happy with pegasus, share your secret with the rest of us
The changes are just being introduced in my office, even though they are completely unworkable. At least 2 FT are to have their contracts reduced because of it (but I can guarantee that RM will still need OT to cover the walks).
The union have let this happen in No1 branch because of their petty political views.
What we need is a serious case of blue flu (lets see the big reduction in mail then).

All 28 hour bods moving to a 30 hour week with 15 mins shorter delivery span that FT, I have used my expert knowledge to ensure that the 30 hour duties delivery routes are spot on. Two of the 30 hour duty routes are existing 28 hour jobs with a suitable amount of work added on to account for their extra 24 mins a day duty length. Ive created three 30 hour duties based on the old cadet delivery routes that i worked from 1991 to 1993 virtually unchanged in terms of del points from when they were 2.5 hour deliveries and pegasus puts them at 3 hrs. Two other duties that were FT are now 30 hour jobs and duties that were 28 hours have been boosted to 40 hour delivery duties due to route alterations. The main thrust was to have AG deliveries nearer to the office thus reducing the amount of time spent travelling to and from delivery which in turn leads to them being able to take on more delivery points.
15 FT rurals at the moment and were keeping 15 ft rurals 2 ft firms were keeping two FT firms 2 ft RLe duties were keeping two FT RLE duties two FT bags and pkts duties we keep them both at FT .
20 hour man being offered chance to go to 32 hours
Asorbing one delivery and one 40 hour ultra senior man going to 30 hours as he want to drop his hour for his last few years as he approches retirement.
No decrease in IPS bods
Phase 3 its not that im happy with it but more of a case it could have been a lot worse which proves the point made by many on here that local aggrements are no good and one decent national aggrement covering all equally would have been better to ensure some dont get a bad deal.
