No chance that he will do it all. He will need to get other managers in but I think it is the same all over in our area.k979aaa wrote:I know that and you know that but they are all puppet's of these two muppet's :cfo & :lfo !. The time has come to stop turning the other cheek, time to stop shaking our heads in bitter dismay, time to stop mumbling our angry words.
The time has come for union.

So what it really means is nobody is going to know what they are doing from one day to the next, you can be sent home or sent to another office all on the managers whim.

Cannot see them sending you home. I am not getting my a*se out of bed and zombie walking down to work only to be told "No Thanks, Have today as your day off and we'll see you tomorrow". Oh god, I can picture the scenes in my head if they tried that with some of my colleagues.disgruntledpostie1 wrote:So what it really means is nobody is going to know what they are doing from one day to the next, you can be sent home or sent to another office all on the managers whim.
Kalashnikovs at dawn!
They can send me to another office if they like so long as they transport me from my DO and bring me back again within my 8 hour shint.

Working in nearby offices – Areas will identify and agree with the CWU locally a approach (which could include the use of volunteers and reserves) to working in nearby offices within employees’ contracted hours which will include travel times and appropriate travel and subsistence arrangements.

In my office we are going to designate two deliveries as collapsable when people go sick which is nearly every day.
We all take a peice of that delivery and deliver it along with our normal round.
Once thats all done we go home even if we have made time.
Thats all there is to phase 3 in my office
Straight forward and manageable within duty times on long days

Do you think that it might not be so painless and cosy in other offices?Big Daz wrote:In my office we are going to designate two deliveries as collapsable when people go sick which is nearly every day.

I think the best thing we can ask for now is an electronic swipe card that books us in and out, therefore all our hours are recorded on a computer (and if the managers change them they leave a trail) and whenever we work our 40hours we stop or we agree to OT at an agreed rate (1 1/2x for weekdays 2x for Saturdays and 3x for Sundays).

But what happens when you have killer days, or more than 2 are off sick, we going to have talks in the next week or so, and want lapsing only if traffic is below a certain level, we've the traffic we've had in the last fortnight not everyone can do the lapsed work. Plus as been said elsewhere if you can cope with the lapsing every day, then that will be the norm and extra will be shoved on again.Big Daz wrote:In my office we are going to designate two deliveries as collapsable when people go sick which is nearly every day.

I don't think this is a good idea, it lets in banked hours, you'll only get to see if you have more than your years hours at the end of the year, I don't fancy having to work extra for nothing and then at the end of the year to be told we owe you nothing. RM can't be trusted to work out hours correctly on a weekly basis, yet doing so on a yearly basis. I can just imagine the excuses the computer went down, we think you owe us a weeks free work.disgruntledpostie1 wrote:I think the best thing we can ask for now is an electronic swipe card that books us in and out, therefore all our hours are recorded on a computer (and if the managers change them they leave a trail) and whenever we work our 40hours we stop or we agree to OT at an agreed rate (1 1/2x for weekdays 2x for Saturdays and 3x for Sundays).

A top notch area aggrement for my area is being put in place which contains a clause relating to outdoor savings, the aggrement reconises that after a pegasus revision then is very little scope for outdoor savings. All extra work to be prescheduled and not dumped on you on return from delivery.
Dont forget the national aggrement says where time permits and if I feel time dosent permit then I will be making that very clear to my DOM.

You are spot on!
Although the 'Summer Effiency' has just finished in our office on Sat past; the DOM has told a few people in our office that because they are short staffed it will be staying!
THEY KNOW which walks are under their time and will once more, apply their bullying tactics to force us to take out more.
I am in a situation where I cut off my own walk to do the 'Summer Effiency' because my delivery is over 3.5 hrs plus I DO THE JOB PROPERLY!
Others in the office who break all the rules and run about like headless chickens have 'absorbed' [ a clever word used by RM management!] the extra mail and calls. SORRY, but even RM managers are not that gullable.
People in our office are all shouting that they will refuse to deliver the extra calls on Monday and that the agreement was only over the Summer period. But I have warned them that finishing early has gone; and that they will use the bullying tactics of scouting people who finish early. Management no doubt will have lists made up of people whom they know finish before their time; Job and Finish is Dead! Unless you finish on your time that is!
The cuts are going to have an effect on us all; especially those who are used to the life of Reilly!
Come the Revolution, Stay Together and Stay Strong, Brothers!

It is a damning indictment that in 2008 donkeys on blackpool beach have more rights than postmen/women on this very day as i right this!. It is shamefull that royalmail can force and bully staff to complete delivery's without a break in this day and age!. We are lions lead by donkey's :cfo & :lfo !.
