that's not stupid: you need to get your D2D's out of the way as early as possible in the week. Working your day off means less stress in the delivery office and more money at the end of the week. Unless you have a life outside of work, that is, then Friday afternoon, evening and night are all no-no's.WilsonPickett wrote:lots sick at ours. my day off and stupidly decided to work it ,aswell as do all door to doors.

Dropped from the "Sky"
It seems like it has been the same everywhere: Tuesday was mucho-mucho quiet: unbelievable, really. Then yesterday, the "Sky" opened - if you get my drift - and we get several heavy dumps from the "Sky" onto each frame. Then today - same again, but worse: as everyone's on holiday/ sick, the dumping seems the more heavy!heapsy wrote:Mega busy today, all kinds of s**t to deliver. Everyone off the ips late, 08.30. It's been pretty bad down here as well, heavy day Wed, really heavy day Thurs, god awful day Fri, and to top it all today was just, well, really awful. Second lorry finally turned up, without it today would only have been heavy, ended up with 7 bags (8 yesterday) and like every day this week 3.5 hours to deliver.
Still Monday is the start of a new week, and back to 3 lots of D2D and undoubtedly a mountain of mailsort and DSA. I can't wait for my day off on Wed and I've not even started Sun yet!
On the bright side, the sun is shining, it's nice and warm so I'm going to crack open a few beers and enjoy the last day of summer.

Double-double
I did a double shift, while dodging the usual barrage of, "Oooh! You're late, aren't you?" [no I am not! says I] "But at least the weather is niiiice for yooooou...", catching a taxi to get from walk A to walk B for the second day in a row. Poor managers - trying to cover walks! I was happy to help.

I’ve being getting finished at around 2.30pm so a good 4+hrs most days, its mainly a council area so we have had those new housing booklets and my god they weigh a tonne I’m sure its classed as a slavery what I’ve put up with for the two weeks I’ve being on it,I’ve finished all the booklets but now have to start on the Sky mags, 40+ light bulbs, D2Ds and those huge Saga books, its a joke tbh very much considering leaving.
Yes, we really do have it as easy as postman Pat, don't we? If only they knew... mags and bulbs falling on our heads from the "Sky"... poor sod! Next you'll be telling us it was a hilly walk too! Your knees must be facing the other way 'round! http://www.tinyurl.com/6rtfyx
