VICTORY FOR THE UNDERTAKER

Post by the undertaker »

Greetings to all,

Its great to be back, sincere thanks to Postman for keeping up the good fight.

Recently the DOM at my DO tried to issue me a 2nd stage warning :chuckle :chuckle The Manager dealing with the case could not cope and delegated the task
to another manager, the other manager complained that he should not be dealing with the case and that the original Manager should deal with it.
I told him that manager 1 was incompetent,he asked me what incompetent meant, what you are also i replied.(he then left the meeting to seek advise)
The Dom was adamant that a 2nd stage warning would be issued, i told them in the strongest terms that Royal Mail has consistently failed to ensure my health and saftey and are criminally negligent and that i would compile a document and send it to the Health and Safety Executive.
The following day i was called into the office and asked to sign a document, the document stated that a 2nd stage warning would not be issued. :chuckle :chuckle

Good stuff mate!! :Applause

If you dont mind me asking............what caused you to be on a stage 2?

Reason I ask is that I am in a similair boat and one of my absences was down to being injured whilst on duty.
If they are going to try and shaft me for something that wasnt my fault, I would look to turn the tables!!

Hi Postghost.

I was on 1st stage, had 2 AOD!S hence triggering 2nd stage, the dom insisted that the AOD!S did not cause injury, upon returning to work i was informed 2 weeks rehab only, the next day i contacted ATOS who emailed the dom (AKA AS THE PLANK) they told him 8 weeks.

Do not accept a 2nd stage, ensure you report any AOD via EricA, you must keep a copy of everything, report every accident even if it!s a paper cut.
If you feel RM have failed to ensure your saftey, tell them so and ensure they record it.
If you require further informatation on dealing with the halfwits, send me a PM outlining you specific details and i will assist you where possible.

As I mentioned in another forum relating to a similar theme, always get in touch with the DWP and ask for a form relating to Industrial injuries (the CWU rep can advise you which form you need to ask for ) then you send it back and they review the facts and if they deem it Industrial injury as they did in my case, you will have it on record.

Absolutely correct to threaten to report the matter to the HSE - some people report Industrial injuries to the DHSS - that way RM can't close ranks as the cat's been let out of the bag .

Make sure everything is logged , who , when , where etc for a "rainy day " as primary evidence - there's nothing clever or profound about how RM operate - they'll stage staff in the hope that it'll intimidate them out of making problems for RM over H&S , RM have a good H&S policy on paper but their compliance is poor ; that's why they are being monitored by the HSE .

RM are a arrogant firm but that arrogance is their Achilles Heel , you are protected against unfair detriment under Employment Law , make sure the Union know as well , it'll help later if it hits the fan .

You"ll always get levels of corruption , but the RM culture is like something out of the 90's Spiv era & you have to wonder where this culture stems from ? - :lfo & :cfo ? :no no :no no
