Royal Mail's finest divulge the hidden gems of their post rounds, from central London to rural Cornwall

Nancy Doyle might stride through Leadenhall Market every day, but she still appreciates it.

The Victorian market, she tells us, is the resting ground of a legendary goose and features the best examples in London of the stone dragons that are said to guard the city.

It’s one of her favourite spots on the post round she does every day from the Mount Pleasant depot.

Nancy’s gentle East End lilt also guides us around Postman’s Park and the Lloyds building during her video tour.

Its candid commentary is typical of the other videos in this series of posties’ guides to Britain – these are ordinary people telling us about the places they love:

“HMS Belfast is a huge warship, I don’t know how long it’s been there but I remember being dragged there as a kid,” says Nancy.

Her colleague, Barry Hutchinson takes us on a walk around Whitby in Yorkshire, where he tells us Bram Stoker stayed nearby “a long time ago”.

But we don’t mind about the specifics – who remembers the dates rattled out by tour guides anyway? The joy of these videos is the amiable characters and the little gems they give away about the favourite spots along their post round.
