What do the pt posties do in your office?

Just wandering what hours your part timers do and what their duties involve? Also what is the ratio of ft to pt in your office?
Our pt's do 25 hours a week over 5 days so they get a day off like the ft'ers. When they come in their rounds are all prepped so all they have got to do is redirections and then bundle up. They dont have to absorb at all which is fair enough i suppose. The ratio is 4 full timers to 1 part timer. Discuss.

Part-time 22.5 and have, like your office, re-directions, kill-offs, and bundle up. Then wait between 15-55minutes on a lift out. All have to be done in the 4.5 hours per day including a break. We do at least half hour overtime every day and most fulltimers are finished 1 hours + early every day.

All PT on 30 hours and they have to everything except IPS. In my section 10 FT and 13 PT.

VERY rarely are the PT's mail 100% sorted, VERY VERY rarely (in our office). So we throw in, redirect, killoff, sort out D2D and bundle and deliver (including breaks!) in 5hrs.

So, by comparison to make up for it the FT's would have to do 3HRS IPS everyday to be justified in their wages (and full bonus).

We have NO part timers at our office

61 staff all on FT contracts+ 2 on rolling 3 month contracts which are also 40 hours a week,and we aim to keep them full time when we get an agreement on pay and mod

In our DO we have 24 walks of which 9 are pt.The ags are on 25hr/5 day week.
Never ever ever ever is any of their mail prepped...ever.Start time is 7 and not many of them complete by 12 but no-one seems to claim ot.
Full timers start at 6.15 and all are easily finished by 14.15 including one poor soul who is finished at 11.40 every day sometimes 11.45 and is paid an hour ot for "development"
And they wonder why our wages budget is fuct.

take out what they feel like , leave packets on top of frames,don't worry about d2d or redirections or deads . a bloody nightmare to follow after day off. but to be fair to them there training is shite & the managers are too busy drinking tea & hiding to check their frames or help them

in our office the part timers on 29 hour contracts come in at 8.20 then through in the25 hour people get their walks thrown in but when we are short on the ips sometimes there is'nt anybody to do it for them.

Basically the same as TBT, everything except IPS

We are hoping to move all our part timers from a 28 hour contract to a 30 hour contract as part of pegasus/geo route revision.

How many days do your pt guys work?
Is it 6x5hrs or 5x6hrs with a day off.........

Mainly 5x4 hours M-F. But management proposals for a duty revision want to
add a 10 hour attendance on Saturday 1200-2200 to most of the pt duties.
