Dear Colleague

Pay and Modernisation Phase 3 Trials - Revised Timetable

Further to LTB 240/08 we have agreed with the business that all trial sites should now extend their trials until Friday 30th May. The revised timetable is detailed below:

Image

To enable more time to test and determine the value of the local ideas.
To allow time for trial sites to apply any improvements to their ideas that they may have identified over recent weeks.
To identify and build upon emerging good practice.
Because some trials started later due to logistical reasons this will provide these units with some 'catch-up' time.

We realise that this is short notice however a full assessment of the implications of changing the timetable and discussions with the business had to be completed before the decision could be announced as the extension will delay the National roll out and the date that individual Units can trigger the 1.5%. Units will however still receive the 1.5% increase backdated to 7th April 2008 providing:
Local agreement is reached by Friday 25th July 2008.
The Local agreement deploys the options/arrangements evaluated and agreed Nationally.
The Local agreement has been deployed by 4th August 2008.
Any offices where deployment is deferred until after Monday 4th August 2008 will receive the additional 1.5% from the date of deployment.

Any enquiries regarding this LTB should be directed to the appropriate National Officers responsible for Delivery, Processing and Network.

Yours sincerely

Dave Ward Martin Collins
Deputy General Secretary (P) Assistant Secretary
