All our 9ams go with the vans, tho most days we get none anyway.
The 1pms are with the postmen but generally if a duty on ot or being covered by a newbie who will not get there before 1 then they are also on the vans.At xmas they are all on the vans.
With regards to shuts the instruction our men and women get are if they pouch into po they have to phone office to let phg know and they are allowed to reverse the charges to do so, so shouldn't cost them anything.
Generally most of them bring them back anyways.
However even with all this in place we still have managed to fail a few this year, mainly due to no phone call and items not turning up til next morning. This causes problem as we scan all duties before 14.20 as delivered if we have had no contact to say items not delivered.
Of course once we all have the lovely handheld devices expect quality of service for SD's to plummet business wide when the time is no longer able to be artificially manipulated and every item that is scanned as delivered before it actually is,and every item that is after 1pm will all show up in some cases like a very large sore thumb!
