Managers need to be part time

What do 2 managers, a trainee manager and a dom support do after about 10am? Not that much really and i mean their own work, not throwing walks off to lapse hours etc cos thats the work of a postman/woman.

So there is no reason to keep managers full time, 25 hours each and a staggered start time should do it. RM would save millions.

You would need at least one to be available till the last delivery is done, or when they can hand over to the collections manager, but the idea is certainly sound.

All joking aside, I can't see why the managers can't go out and do deliveries after they've done what little they do in the mornings.

A decent manager would be able to deal with anything within a couple of hours everyday, from what I can see they make work for themselves by being a-holes and screwing everything up for everybody.

yes check out his e-mails and see how you could fill out your 'day' by not achieving anything and get paid for it as well

And managers are already part time it's just that they get full time status and the pay to go with it

the 2 managers in my office are decent enough.. there is as has been said always one of them in the office till about 3pm every day... they both help sort the mail in the morning ... one of them will do drops at the pouch boxes...and run guys out to start their walks...and thats without them doing whatever they have to sort out in the office.

What, every day ? No DIM is ever as half as busy as a postal worker. And if DIMs are so damned busy, what's with the 11.30-12.00 finishes ?

2 managers = 16 hours per day

1 trainee manager = 8 hours per day

1 dom support = 8 hours

There is massive scope for part time managers on 25 hour contacts

5am-10am 1st manager starts
9am-2pm 2nd manager starts
