You need to read my post again and what was stated

"All Employees are entitled to a 20 minute break middle of duty"

Never mentioned legacy staff
Read the post you replied to again

Which part of it are you saying shouldnt be allowed?

They said half is taken at the end whilst still complying with your WTR rules as the other half the break taken midshift is still 20 mins - the 20 mins break youve said has to be taken midshift......is taken midshift
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Never said any should not be allowed

Simply stated that ALL employees are entitled to a 20 minute break to be taken near the middle of your duty

Be that legacy or new contracts

New contracts cannot be at beginning or end of duty

He never said non legacy couldnt get a 20 min break midshift did he?

And if you are saying that new contracts cant take 20 off the end then thats why he stipulated that legacy can

The only point i made is that you were seemingly correcting the poster you replied to when they never said anything wrong

Now you seem to be agreeng with what they said

I assume because you actually did what I said and reread their post

Should the parliamentary select committee be informed in advance of chairing any such claims?
I'm lost with this post, what difference does it make when the rest period is taken to somebody suffering fatigue, it's not like they are working through their break and so not taking one at all?

There is no 'national agreement' per se that says you can take half your break at the end of your duty.

This bollox has come in over the years, in revisions after revisions after revisions.
Many offices don't do this s**t.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

It's in the Way Forward 2000 Agreement.

"Where an attendance is provided with more than one break, the second break may be scheduled at the beginning or end, in which case attendance is not required solely for booking on or off. A single break should not be scheduled at the beginning or end of the attendance."

So taking 20 in the middle means you can take the other 20 either at the start or finish and SISO knows this because I have been signing out 20 minutes before my finish time since SISO came in with zero issues and so has every other legacy postie in our office.

Taking the break at the end of the shift, has to be locally agreed because of SISO. They could make you log out at finishing time - that will come - but are currently agreeing not to penalise signing out 20 minutes early.

I personally think the finish time should be end of shift, not 20 mins early, because people take the mick and are heading back to the office an hour before finishing time.

Genuine question, do you have a near 5pm finish time?
