The vans are being kept for longer, all the small vans in my office are now getting their 3rd year tests (PSV's) so that would leave me to believe that they'll be keeping the vans for at least 4 years probably 5 years except the Fiats which will be hard pushed to last 2 years

A quarter of the fleet in our office are white hire vans, no one seems to know when we will get Royal Mail ones again

usual way - outsourcing - all RM have to do is put diesel and oil into them - on paper with the usual short -terminism , RM are saving money but eventually RM will end up with a large fleet of clapped out vans that'll have to be sold for a song as it would be throwing good money after bad to service , repair & maintain them .LDV 350 wrote:A quarter of the fleet in our office are white hire vans, no one seems to know when we will get Royal Mail ones again

We've got a van with a great big hole in the roof. It's been like it for two weeks now, no sign of it getting fixed, just wait till it starts to rain. (again)
How much does it cost RM to hire these vans? Surely over the course of say a 3 year life-span for them, it would be cheaper to buy rather than hire, or is someone 'high-up' also running a van rental company?

there has been some "cosy" deals - remember all the Big Al attendance prizes ? - half these holiday prizes were not worth the paper they were written on - and by "coincidence " a lot of these new Senior managers ( bar the Scottish Mafia ) come from a commercial background .k979aaa wrote:Just wait till the smart car/van is unleashed upon us all!. blown over in a breeze, barged off the road by a cyclist , god only know's how meny will be left to rent out in a fit condition but it will not both these two clowns. :cfo & :lfopinstripe wrote:We've got a van with a great big hole in the roof.
