Don’t know whether there’s even in an ounce of truth in it but according to one of the papers the conservatives are on an election footing as they feel the PM may call a pre Christmas snap election.

Jeez how the hell would RM deal with it if that actually happened? Office is rammed full of weeks of undelivered mail, D2D piling up untouched, no staff, new starters coming & going, we are on the point of grinding to a halt. I’m sure that there’s many like this up and down the country so god forbid polling cards and election material starts pouring in!!!

:cuppa He's just in the job , it would be political self harm!
He's still got the new PM's bounce which won't last for ever the forthcoming Budget maybe give us a clearer sign, there's already talk today of the mansion tax not being increased as was rumoured previously, with the "warehouse" tax also kicked into touch.

I think you'd see an increase in the payments for all election material, not just the unfranked/stamped stuff, a lot of late finishes, and a lot of clear(ish) frames.
Money talks.
Election material payment hasn't budged in the entire time I've been in this job. We're relatively lucky to get 6p per item (whereas I understand some areas are as low as 2p) which through inflation must have lost half its value in that time. Freddos Per Item is <1.

The December 2019 election benefitted from ocurring before significant inflation and finish times that let you stay out for 90 minutes before darkness fell, to say nothing of the comparatively better state of the service. The company won't budge on times and there is far more chance of election payments being adjusted downwards.
The machine stops.
