Had a visit from some higher-up bods. our massive, four-week-high pile of D2D that was sitting under the frame, suddenly disappeared 🪄 I have absolutely no idea where it went, but what a result! ☕😎 I still can't quite believe our luck.
They need to stop giving an office prior warning of a visit.

Some d2ds at ours were under some frames for months!

In our office the amount of OT being paid out is astronomical, just to clear frames/duties.
People going off long term sick with stress every week.
People coming back to the depot after 7pm a regular occurrence :Very Happy
Door to doors are hidden away as no one has time to actually put them in the frame.
Tracked parcel workload impossible to clear in the time allocated and it hasn't even started to get busy for Christmas yet.
Managers telling us to not bother with the first class mail again and take it for a ride.

We, the postmen/women/workforce all knew that DM26 wouldn't work even before it was employed.
We were right, the powers that be were wrong yet again it seems.

We've been told to resume prepping D2D each morning. As of Week 9 since deployment there has been absolutely no scope for non-drivers to remain indoors on a Saturday.
The machine stops.

Same as everyone, running with tons of o/t thrown at it. Was it not supposed to work without this? Door to door not working out as eats into time. Telling us to get out by a certain time, most have no chance. Getting run into ground on purpose we all think , as no way someone can come up
with anything as crazy as this. Sick starting to pile up too

It’s just a really really stupid system. I get the feeling Martin Walsh thinks he’s some sort of radical genius when he proposed DM26 as the alternative to DM26 when in reality it’s the same concept just tweaked slightly. It’s still 3 covering 4 routes no matter what kind of spin or 900 page agreement you serve it with. Delivery’s were already becoming impossible before this change so how anyone thought this could realistically work is beyond me. Give it 6-12 months and I can see Royal Mail going back to Ofcom saying sorry this hasn’t made the required savings and pushing for a 2 or 3 day letter service across the board. That was probably the plan all along anyway.
