Xmas pressure and dm26 will have to change back to the way it was for it to kinda work
DM26 will be running right through Xmas Pressure.
It's going back to 4 people in a pod over Xmas.
Exactly lol. So that pretty much means from mid November on.

Why didn’t CWU opposed it from the the start?,it’s actually their model this DM26
Too pally with management trying to do job for them, now it’s not working, are they now all of sudden gonna grow a pair and start defending members.i feel like damage all ready done.

Absolute sellouts 😡😡😡
Because they were trying to stop RM bringing in the ODM, which is worse than DM26

Love the terminology being used by the CWU. 100% delivery point coverage doesn't mean that 100% of the mail is being delivered, so what is it supposed to prove? Our office is hardly ever on problem list yet there are still walks with plenty of mail sitting in trays under the frame that doesn't appear to be counted and on some of our problem paired rounds we are only receiving mech for ONE duty rather than both. Happened far too often for me to dismiss that as an occasional mistake.

And what happens when posties finish their round and bring back loops or put any undelivered mail back in the frame? Is that still recorded as 100% delivery point coverage? Because if it is, what meaningful picture of delivery performance does it actually provide? And even where duties have been completely cleared, if management have needed to bring in extra staff or pay additional OT, that still doesn't tell us whether the duties were adequately resourced or financially efficient in the 1st place.

RM and the CWU appear to be using smoke and mirrors to suggest that DM26 is working efficiently but the biggest evidence that things aren't working is staff turnover. If 400 people are leaving every week, and that continues, thats over 20,000 employees leaving the business in a single year!! The fact that some of those jumping ship are also on legacy contracts suggests the issues are beyond new entrants pay and conditions. Is DM26 contributing to the problems rather than solving it? Are those longer days creating burnout and fatigue and leading to increased staff sickness? Is the model placing unrealistic demands on the workforce?
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

If people are leaving within 6 months, they would never have reached pay parity anyway because on legacy contracts the pay was tiered so you got an uplift at 6 months then another one at 1year.
If RM brought this system back I don't think it would significantly affect their bottom line.
The vast majority of the new hires in my office didn't intend to stay at Royal Mail long term anyway. An awful lot of them seem to have other applications that they are waiting to hear back from and just take the RM job as an interim measure.

“The best reverse mechanism for DM26, given that there isn’t a reverse mechanism, is to not start doing it in the first place” - Tom Sawyer.

We’ve been played, and we knew it was coming too….

I know it seems to be rare, but there are 2 offices next to ours that went live with next to zero problems because they were fully staffed and most importantly had achievable sized rounds.
Why don’t we put all the fully staffed offices into DM26 and reverse the ones that arent.

Dave and Martin had their biscuits/coffee and their photo opportunity so i would assume we won’t hear another word about it ever again. Absolute snakes the lot of them.

Once they approach their mental and/or physical limits they leave, taking their fatigue with them. Then the cycle beings again as the next batch of succulent victims are summoned to be drained of their essence.
The machine stops.

Is there a record for the amount of times that apparently 'high up' RM and CWU peeps can come into a single unit, walk round and scratch their heads with open mouthed incredulity at the state of the place, ask and receive honest views on what the isues are, then nothing changes?

Send your answers on a postcard, inside a box with a tracked label on it.

Whatever your role in a delivery office just switch off and do what you can do DM26 or not. More intelligent people than ourselves fully understand the issues it’s not rocket science. Have enough staff to conplete the workload or don’t and profit from the failures. Be better than the bottom 10% in your unit and you don’t even have to worry about the micro management

Also. Shame on the CWU for mentally torturing their own members by gaslighting them time and time again
