Re: DM26 First Class/Second Class/DSA adherence in individual offices
I get loads of non first class in the mech, I don't care if its reached its limit, if that's the case they should of released it earlier.
I am not wasting my time and energy delivering a tv license reminder to the top floor of some flats, it will get thrown in the tomorrow box, and once its in there who would know that it should of gone out?
If this is an issue it should be sorted out before it gets to a delivery office, not making our job impossible.

Absolutely correct answer. Our manager told us everything in first bundle for light side has to go that day weeks ago when Disastermodel26 came to our office. We all nodded our heads with a wry smile then proceeded to chuck it in the tray under bench with other second class mail for next day. Nobody knows and more importantly Nobody gives a s**t, most the mail is junk crap anyway. We can’t get anywhere near completing without booking overtime so we have bigger issues to worry about.sorefeet17 wrote: ↑25 Sep 2026, 18:20I get loads of non first class in the mech, I don't care if its reached its limit, if that's the case they should of released it earlier.

Re: DM26 First Class/Second Class/DSA adherence in individual offices
The algorithm is designed to help. The idea is that items are released so that it can be worked in the most efficient way. Delaying the work simply makes the workload heavier the next day. The algorithm is releasing DSA when the DP has any item due that day.
As space phoenix has said the interference taking place at the moment will stop. Obstructing the algorithm now is preventing putting DM26 right. Do the job properly and you have a better argument for duties that do not work being fixed. Keep delaying the work and you've no proof that the duties don't work.

That's a standard part of the DTS and has been for a couple of years now, that's not new.sorefeet17 wrote: ↑25 Sep 2026, 18:20I get loads of non first class in the mech, I don't care if its reached its limit, if that's the case they should of released it earlier.

Just wait until RM start doing random checks and using test letters, it sounds like there are going to be quite a few DOs getting into trouble.

Once the overtime ban came in, that was it for me. Full breaks, work to time. Go home, walk away from the bin fire. There`ll be some who do "overtime" on SAs but hey....

Saw a DOM today checking through buddy boxes that had been left under the fitting for tomorrow after the postie had gone out, so I’m thinking random checks are already happening.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑25 Sep 2026, 18:31That's a standard part of the DTS and has been for a couple of years now, that's not new.sorefeet17 wrote: ↑25 Sep 2026, 18:20I get loads of non first class in the mech, I don't care if its reached its limit, if that's the case they should of released it earlier.

They are both shown on the document showing what mail is considered 1c.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑24 Sep 2026, 23:41International letters and Articles for the Blind have always been 1C.Mr Rush wrote: ↑24 Sep 2026, 22:49Whilst I've noticed international letters and Articles for the Blind coming through the 1C mech bundle, at no point have we ever been explicitly told they are 1C. The cecogram pouches containing audio recordings are starting to have 'First Class' printed on them which removes any doubt since 'freepost' doesn't hack it anymore.
As for 2C coincidentalsnot happening. To be honest, plenty of 1C finds itself back at the office. You think management are going to tell people to ditch T24s so the 1C clears? Get real.
As far as any 2c mail which we receive on the "light" walk it's simply not being delivered as, firstly, we've been specifically told not to prep that part of the frame and, secondly, we haven't got the time to deliver it anyway.
It'll be interesting to see if any sending customers start complaining when DSA mail sent on a Monday isn't being delivered to the middle of the following week.

Re: DM26 First Class/Second Class/DSA adherence in individual offices
It's simple to think we've got time to deliver everything which arrives daily, all the material RM have sent out internally and externally quite clearly ststed 2c mail will be delivered on alternative days, nowhere does it say "unless it's due to delivered on a different day" or anything similar.

Bollocks that’s what it is. We’re an office of 30 walks & some walks have now how 20+ trays of letters sitting by them. Then there’s other walks that haven’t been out for 2 weeks so no one is piss balling about with a Chums brochure that’s been chucked in with 1C cos the MC missorted it 3 days in a row to the wrong office!!!

If a missort was machine sorted IT MUST go back as a manual otherwise it'll go back to the machine which will sort it to the address encoded in the orange barcodes.GRS wrote: ↑25 Sep 2026, 19:57Bollocks that’s what it is. I think you need to spend some time at the sharp end and what that involves now.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑25 Sep 2026, 18:31That's a standard part of the DTS and has been for a couple of years now, that's not new.sorefeet17 wrote: ↑25 Sep 2026, 18:20I get loads of non first class in the mech, I don't care if its reached its limit, if that's the case they should of released it earlier.

It may have been the standard part of DTS, but before DM26 it didn't make any difference because everything went out, and it would be virtually every office in the country getting in trouble if they started doing checks.

Re: DM26 First Class/Second Class/DSA adherence in individual offices
I had a missort last summer for a farm in Northern Ireland due inspection and no matter how much I obliterated the orange barcodes the bastard thing turned up in my sequenced six days in a row. That was not my first battle with the CSS machine. There's just the standard 'missorts' pigeonhole on IPS so I'm going to blame this on the MC not reprocessing them correctly.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑25 Sep 2026, 20:14If a missort was machine sorted IT MUST go back as a manual otherwise it'll go back to the machine which will sort it to the address encoded in the orange barcodes.
The machine stops.
