16 weeks pay and 12 weeks Pay in lieu of notice (taxable) and whatever annual leave you have accrued up until your leaving date.

Do not quote me, but believe it is 16 weeks' wages tax free
One week's wages for every year served up to a maximum of 12 weeks
Any outstanding holiday entitlement.
They will tax both holiday pay and the 12 weeks.

Both the CWU and Royal Mail decimated this entitlement

My thoughts on ill health retirement are that if you work for RM for years and it wrecks your body then you should get a payout and then a pension? Is that correct?

It’s somewhere around £16,000

£16,000 will be a ballpark figure for a full-time contract worker who has served over twelve years.

What about those new employees on 30-hour new contracts and £1500 a year fewer wages than current legacy staff?

It’s less than half that amount.

Just done one.

Do you get access to your pension? If you take Ill health as it’s different from medical retirement

Dont forget that any sick time pay leading up to ill health retirement will be minus’d off of the payout.

This was agreed in the shambles strike ending agreement back in 2024

example: payout £16000 - £10,000 sick pay for 5 months on sick leading up = £6000 in the pocket.

people aint as clever as they think they are when they shoot for IHR

Nope, that didn't happen to someone at our place who just took IHR, he'd been off 6 months and got about 16k
